Michael Raedecker

Michael Raedecker (born May 12, 1963, Amsterdam) is a Dutch artist based in London.

Raedecker studied fashion at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie [1] in Amsterdam from 1985-1990. He then attended Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten [2], Amsterdam, from 1993-1994 and received his MFA from Goldsmiths [3] in London in 1997.

Raedecker has shown work internationally in many important exhibitions including the 1999 John Moores Painting Prize [4] (which he won) at the Walker Gallery in Liverpool, the 2000 Turner Prize [5] at Tate Britain in London, “The Galleries Show” at the Royal Academy of Arts [6] in London, the 2004 Sydney Biennial [7], “Other Times” at City Gallery [8] in Prague, “The Triumph of Painting” at the Saatchi Gallery [9] in London and “Imagination wird Wirklichkeit Teil II” at Sammlung Goetz [10] , Munich. He is represented by Andrea Rosen [11] in New York, The approach [12] in London and Hauser & Wirth [13] in Zurich.
